Blood Components
Blood & Blood Components
Safe Blood. Quality Components. Saving Lives.
At Parakh Voluntary Blood Centre, Jhansi, we provide a comprehensive range of blood and blood components to support the transfusion requirements of patients across Jhansi and the Bundelkhand region.
Our blood components are prepared, tested, stored and issued through established quality and safety procedures in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements and transfusion practices.
Our Blood Components
🔴 Packed Red Blood Cells (PRBC)
Packed Red Blood Cells (PRBC) are primarily used for patients who require red blood cell replacement, including those with significant blood loss or clinically significant anemia.
PRBC transfusion helps restore the oxygen-carrying capacity of the blood while limiting unnecessary fluid volume.
🟡 Fresh Frozen Plasma (FFP)
Fresh Frozen Plasma (FFP) contains plasma proteins and coagulation factors that are important for normal blood clotting.
It may be used in patients with clinically significant coagulation abnormalities, major blood loss, or other medical conditions where replacement of plasma coagulation factors is required.
🟠Random Donor Platelets (RDP)
Platelets play an essential role in blood clotting and preventing excessive bleeding.
Random Donor Platelets (RDP) may be required for patients with low platelet counts or platelet-related bleeding, including patients with conditions such as dengue, leukemia, chemotherapy-related thrombocytopenia, and other clinical conditions where platelet support is indicated.
🩸 Whole Blood (WHB)
Whole Blood contains red blood cells, plasma and platelets.
It may be used in selected clinical situations where replacement of multiple blood components is required, including certain cases of acute blood loss and massive hemorrhage, as determined by the treating physician.
🩸 Single Donor Platelets (SDP)
Single Donor Platelets (SDP), also known as apheresis platelets, are collected from a single donor using an automated apheresis procedure.
A single SDP donation provides a high platelet yield and can provide targeted platelet support while reducing exposure to multiple donors.
SDP can be particularly valuable for patients who require specialized or repeated platelet transfusion support.
Quality & Safety
At Parakh Voluntary Blood Centre, patient safety is our highest priority.
Every donation undergoes appropriate processes that include:
Careful donor selection and screening
Mandatory infectious disease testing as applicable
Blood grouping and compatibility procedures
Safe blood collection and component preparation
Appropriate temperature-controlled storage
Quality-controlled testing, documentation and issue procedures
Our dedicated team works to ensure that safe, tested and clinically appropriate blood and blood components are available to patients when required.
Supporting Patients Across Jhansi & Bundelkhand
Through our blood banking and transfusion services, Parakh Voluntary Blood Centre continues to support hospitals, healthcare professionals, patients and families across Jhansi and the wider Bundelkhand region.
The availability of appropriate blood components depends on voluntary blood donation. Every eligible donor contributes to maintaining a reliable blood supply for patients who need it.
